This lamp automatically rotates to simulate the movement of the sun outside, replicating the way sunlight enters a room and introducing a natural time pattern for individuals in environments with limited sunlight. The rotating mechanism is inspired by the design of an astronomical observatory dome and the mechanical heads used in photography. This enables the lamp to maintain a rectangular shape without resembling an additional structure, such as that of a surveillance camera.

The concept originated from a collaborative research project aimed at addressing sleep disorders, particularly related to the sense of time and connection with nature, prevalent among Generation Z (born between 2000 - 2005) in the information age. The goal is to devise an effective solution that can assist Generation Z in establishing healthier sleep habits, thereby enhancing the overall quality of sleep and better equipping them to navigate the stresses and challenges of modern information-centric lifestyles. It is a design that rethinks the way time is expressed, articulates the true meaning of natural cycles for human beings, and resists digitised notions of time.
